Understanding the challenge
A clinical-stage biotech had deep science but almost no digital visibility. Its dense, technical site was effectively invisible in search, its thought leadership was buried, and it had no presence in the AI answer engines its audiences increasingly used, leaving it competing for credibility against far larger pharma names. Regulatory constraints ruled out aggressive paid tactics, so authority had to be earned.
Our approach
We built a Demand Generation strategy grounded in credibility (content, Digital PR, and search visibility across both traditional and AI engines) rather than paid volume.
Key elements of our solution included:
• A content strategy translating pipeline science into authoritative, citable resources for clinicians, partners, and investors.
• A Digital PR program earning coverage and high-authority backlinks from scientific and industry publications.
• Technical and on-page SEO making the pipeline and mechanism-of-action content discoverable.
• AI Search optimization so the company surfaced in AI Overviews and answer engines for mechanism and indication queries.
Technical innovation
We implemented a passage-level structuring and schema framework, modelling scholarly and mechanism-of-action content so it was citable by both search engines and large language models, alongside entity-based topic modelling around the company's indications and targets, building durable topical authority.
Outcome
Organic visibility grew 3.2x among clinical and investor audiences within 12 months, the company earned high-authority backlinks and first-page rankings for priority indication terms, and it began appearing as a cited source in AI-generated answers.
