Understanding the challenge

The core safeguard is that the agents retrieve rather than invent. The research and drafting agents work only from the firm's own matter files and vetted legal sources, so a citation always points to a real authority instead of a plausible-sounding fabrication, and every output is queued for an attorney to review, correct, and approve. Because the agents support multi-step work rather than one-off answers, an associate can hand off an entire research-and-first-draft sequence and get back a sourced, editable draft, with the confidentiality and privilege guardrails built into the workflow rather than left to chance.
